Q. What professions out there have salaries at least two hundred and fifty thousand dollars? I want to buy a Lamborghini and they cost about that much. I'm currently in school studying to be a Physical Therapy Assistant. Should I change my major? if so, to what?? PLEASE HELP!!!
A. Having a $250K salary doesn't mean you'll be able to buy a Lamborghini. What happens when you get to that income level, is that your expenses also increase, leaving you a smaller margin. You have to wear more expensive dress, drive a nicer car, dine in better restaurants and more frequently, just to be able to keep up with your colleagues on an appropriate level and maintain that $250K salary for yourself.
Clearly, the best way to make money is to go into business. Most successful entrepreneurs don't even have a degree. If your goal is to make money, then the best way to fulfill that goal is ... to start making money!
Still, since your question is about professions, let me name a few. Investment bankers can have that kind of salary starting with senior positions (plus hefty a bonus). Working as a lawyer or as a doctor you could get also you that salary. Oil and commodity trade is yet another area, where returns can be that high.
But like I mentioned, those are professions, in which you work for somebody else not yourself. The best way to make money is to work for yourself, and work hard.
Good luck!
Moni.
